Excuse of ignorance for the one who Slaughters for other than Allaah
Question:
Respected Shaykh, some people when they build a new house they slaughter at the threshold of the house seeking blessings and to repel the evil eye. Whilst he is ignorant that this slaughtering for other than Allaah is shirk, is this individual then to be declared an unbeliever?
Answer:
This individual is to be ordered with repentence, it should be said to him: This is shirk, upon you is repentence to Allaah, since the one who enacts shirk (associates partners with Allaah) is a Mushrik (Polytheist).
